  • Comments Off on Shazia murder case: court extends Naeem’s remand for six days
Judicial magistrate Saleem Sheikh on Friday extended the physical remand of Chaudhry Naeem advocate for six days. Advocate Naeem is the main accused in Shazia murder case. He was brought before the court amidst tight security. Media persons were also barred from entering the court premises.

Police requested the court to extend custody of the accused, as they required more time to collect evidences. Police sought 10-day remand, however, the court allowed six days only. On the occasion, family of Shazia and members of Christian community were also present and lodged protest outside Cantt Courts and demanded justice from the court.

Later, members of civil society organisations and NGOs held a press conference at the residence of Shazia. They expressed distrust over an inquiry committee formed by Punjab Chief Minister saying the committee was using delaying tactics in probing the matter. They also held a protest demonstration outside Lahore Press Club on Friday evening.
